<p>An indemnity plan works by reimbursing you for your medical expenses regardless of where you incur them. In the old days, indemnity plans were very common and in most areas of the country the only type of plan that was available. Today, many insurers offer managed care because full-indemnity can end up costing them a lot of money.</p>
<p>With that said, it is still possible to find and receive indemnity insurance. Your monthly premium will end up being much more than on a managed care plan, but you will have more coverage. If you anticipate your health care costs being unpredictable, or you travel and/or move a lot, then an indemnity plan may be just right for you.</p>

But what about sweets or canned foods? I’m not talking about the natural sweetness of juicy fruits, but rather, the refined sugars that are prevalent in so many of our foods.<span id="more-11"></span></p>
<p>Unfortunately, sugar is one ingredient to stay away from. Not only does too much sugar cause weight gain, but can also accelerate the aging process and can even provide fuel for cancer and other health problems. Sugar is addicting and once you start eating it, it’s difficult to give up. As a result, many people suffer poor health when there is a remedy.</p>
<p>Studies have shown that sugar in our bloodstream can attach to proteins. That combination damages other proteins in the area. This process results in what is called advanced glycation end products. It can be shortened to AGE’s. And age is exactly what it does. As you eat sugar, natural or refined, your body produces insulin and the cells in your body grow. However, if you eat too much sugar the body produces too much insulin. This can encourage cancer cells to grow.</p>
<p>You can’t just eliminate all sugar. It’s impossible. Eating carbohydrates and fruits produce natural sugar. However there are sugars that can, and should be avoided. Sweets, sugary cereals, soda pop, refined grain (the white stuff) and juice drinks all are unhealthy choices.</p>
<p>The best way to reduce the amount of insulin that your body produces is to eat complex carbohydrates such as whole grains, whole fruits and legumes with a little protein, fat or fiber. Eating them together will help your body process the sugar at a slower rate.</p>
<p>While eliminating sugar isn’t a cure-all, it can help improve your health. So whether you want to lose weight, improve the appearance of your skin or be healthier, give up the sugary sweets and soft drinks.
